Would be helpful for new users if you could include a few chores and banks already in the list rather than starting completely from scratch

Thanks for the suggestion. In version 1.7 that came out in late July, when a new user installs the app, you are prompted to download sample data. This is only for new installations so it won't help you at this point. If you haven't used the Copy Chore feature, take a look at it. It could save you a bunch of time.
